Cadel Evans Claims First Ever Tour de France Victory

Cadel Evans claimed wore the yellow jersey as the riders crossed the finish line for the last time at the 2011 Tour de France.

Entering this year, Evans was a two-time runner-up and was looking to take down two-time defending champion Alberto Contador.

Evans was able to do so when he made up 57 seconds on the 20th stage to take the overall lead for the first time this year and knock off the Schleck Brothers.

Mark Cavendish, the green jersey winner, also took down the 21st stage, becoming the first rider to win three sprints on the Champs Elysées and the first British rider to win the Green Jersey.

Yellow Jersey (Overall Winner): Cadel Evans, Australia
Green Jersey (Points Classification): Mark Cavendish, Great Britain
Polka Dot Jersey (King of the Mountains): Samuel Sanchez, Spain
White Jersey (Best Young Rider): Pierre Rolland, France
