UFC bantamweight Urijah Faber will look to rebound from his loss to Dominick Cruz at UFC 132, as he is set to square off against Brian Bowles at UFC 139.

UFC.com made the announcement that both competitors have verbally agreed to face each other, headlined by a heavyweight title bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.

UFC President Dana White officially confirmed the bout, making it one of the most intriguing bouts in the bantamweight division.

“Before a possible trilogy can be considered between Urijah Faber and his rival, Champion Dominick Cruz, he will take on one of the division’s truly elite fighters, former Bantamweight Champion Brian Bowles," White said.

Faber is currently 1-1 in the UFC, as he dominated Eddie Winland at UFC 128 before going through a back-and-forth war with Cruz that saw him on the wrong side of a unanimous decision.

Bowles, a former WEC bantamweight champion, has been successful in the UFC thus far, earning wins over Damacio Page and Takeya Mizugaki. Should either Faber or Bowles pick up the win, it would certainly elevate their chances at receiving a title shot against the champion in the near future.

UFC 139 is scheduled for November 19, live from the HP Pavilion Center in San Jose, California.
