Florida/Georgia Recap

As a Florida fan, I have to comment on this one.

First, it was revealed Saturday that all off-season, the Gators performed 42 repetitions during weight lifting sessions - the same number of points Georgia scored last year.

And they performed 188 combined push-ups, sit-ups and crunches at a time—the same number of rushing yards Knowshon Moreno compiled a year ago.

Gary Danielson really embarrassed himself in this game. His effusive praise of Matthew Stafford was sickening. I like Stafford and it's obvious he's going to be a high NFL draft pick, but is Danielson getting a kickback from Stafford's agent? Can we get Todd Blackledge back?

There's no doubt that Haden held Green and altered his route a bit on the 88-yard interception, but it's clear on the replay that Green's route had shifted well before the ball left Stafford's hand. He should not have made that throw. Critical mistake, but not according to Danielson.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Dawgs main newspaper, normally runs a banner above their headline Sunday morning declaring the latest Dawg victory or defeat. Nothing to be seen last Sunday.

In the bottom right hand corner of the front page was as small an article as they could print that said "Dawgs see title hopes end". You wouldn't have know they even played a game the day before. That's pathetic.

Now I understand that when you lose a game like that, nobody's that interested in doing an autopsy on the corpse. But SEC fans are supposed to be the best fans in college football. Georgia is one of the premier programs in the SEC. Dawg fans are supposed to set an example.

Why did 90 percent of them leave the stadium in the 4th quarter? The Georgia fans who travel down to Jacksonville are the cream of their fan base. The die-hards of the die-hards. Man up and take your medicine. Show some loyalty to your team and stay until the end.

I know I'm kicking these guys when they're down and I doubt Florida fans would behave any differently if they were in the same position. It's not really a Georgia issue. It's general fan issue. Let's show some respect, guys!!!

"It was the turnovers that killed us," said Moreno. Hey Knowshon, what happened to "I played a lousy game. We'll work hard and do better next time. I give credit to the Gators for playing well."

Have to give Tebow some credit, that's pretty much said that after the Ole Miss game. Now if he can just figure out how to do that without crying.
