Xtreme Fighting Championships President John Prisco Shares New Details About XFC

Robin Troutman JohnsonJun 7, 2018

It was a thrilling opportunity to interview John Prisco, who started Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) in 2006, and held the first event in 2007. Mr. Prisco was very gracious to take time out of his busy schedule to talk to me.

He is a very well-spoken and polite gentleman who really impressed me with his vision and goals for XFC. The home office is located in Tampa, Florida and he has a wonderful staff that work together to make the XFC a very positive and powerful organization that will undoubtedly only keep growing because of the leadership of John Prisco.

Before starting XFC Prisco managed boxers for several years, but then he took an interest in MMA and has never looked back. He has high expectations for XFC, and after the success in Florida; XFC has expanded to several states and has plans to expand on an international level in the near future.

Prisco plans to do shows all over the world, and with his new two year contract with HDnet this will give maximum exposure to the fighters and organization. XFC plans to hold 8-10 live events within the following year. Two shows are planned for the near future in Canada, which will also be shown on HDnet.

Prisco feels that taking fighters at a young stage in their career and helping them by getting them the best training and venues makes a difference in his organization. XFC holds open tryouts for fighters to showcase their skills and abilities, and if they are successful then they will get a chance to fight for the XFC.

The majority of the open try out winners now have successful fight records and are fighting at large venues with stacked cards. The XFC also finds talent that has not been discarded by another organization. Prisco feels that so many talented MMA fighters are waiting for a chance to be discovered and to have their own claim to fame in the XFC.

For fighters who are interested in finding out more about open tryouts, visit here. You will also want to check out “The Anatomy of an MMA show” which a five-part series is written by John Prisco that you can access from this link.

Look for a big press release in the following weeks that is sure to bring excitement to everyone involved with XFC.

I can personally speak on behalf of XFC and how it has changed the lives of two up-and-coming fighters that were awarded pro-contracts on Gene Click and Tim Loy’s X Series. Billy “The Kid” Mullins, who fights at 145lbs, and Scott “ Hot Sauce” Holtzman, who fights at 155lbs, were awarded the prestigious XFC pro contracts this past June and are elated to start out their pro careers with such an outstanding organization.

XFC is the place for the next generation’s super stars of MMA. XFC is both fighter and fan friendly and really takes care of every detail to ensure that all events are carefully planned to provide an exciting event with each show.
