Motivated Dos Santos Eager To Face Velasquez
After defeating all of his seven opponents inside the UFC, Junior dos Santos is ready to challenge Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight title. The title bout, tentatively scheduled for UFC 139, will take place in front of Velasquez's home crowd at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
But according to dos Santos, the thought of facing Velasquez without a home-field advantage doesn't intimidate the Brazilian one bit. In fact, he said he'll make sure the crowd will favour him over their hometown hero.
"I donโt pay much attention to the fans before the fight. My focus is on my opponent," dos Santos said in an exclusive interview with TATAME.com.

"I guess where weโre fighting, the fans will support him, but thatโs not a problemโฆ Iโll make them cheer for me.โ
Both heavyweights' dominance thus far has been practically identical. As both dos Santos and Velasquez have beaten a list of who's-who in the heavyweight division. The one thing that is missing from the Brazilian's waistline is the heavyweight crown, which Velasquez first earned the opportunity to challenge for.
But the fact that both competitors have been able to remain undefeated is impressive and it only seems fitting to compete for the heavyweight title.ย
The heavyweight title is what keeps "Cigano" motivated to give Velasquez the first blemish on his professional record.
"I donโt mind if heโs undefeated to far or if heโs a tough guy or if itโs Velasquez.ย To me it only matters that heโs the UFC champion and I want to become a UFC champion," he said.
"Iโm improving everything in my life and, on the day of the fight, Iโm sure Iโll bring this belt to Brazil.โ
