According to several inside sources from both the NFL and the NFLPA, the NFL lockout will end this week and free agency will open on Monday July, 25th. Look for an entertaining couple weeks ahead.

Offices of sports agents like Scott Smith of XAM Sports or Drew Rosenhaus are going to look like the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) before the closing bell. Not to say players will be going far, but agents will be busy operating within the small window of time.

There will be blockbuster signings, but for the most part, the lockout will influence a lot of guys to stay put. It will also make teams stick with some familiar faces when they normally would not. Perfect example—Alex Smith.

Smith may have benefited from the lockout more than any other player in the NFL. Because of it, he now has a fair chance to prove he is not the bust the sane think he is. Prove us wrong.

Want more good news? We are only a couple weeks out from the 49ers preseason opener against the Saints in New Orleans. Can you believe it? After all the drama, football for us fans won’t skip a beat.

No more need to guess about Alex Smith. Enough chit chat on Colin Kaepernick's NFL readiness.

Is Jim Harbaugh the next Bill Walsh? Will Frank Gore shut down the naysayers yet again? Will Michael Crabtree blossom in his junior year as many others have before?

It’s time to find out Niner Fans. It’s time to play football.
