It's not easy being a ball kid on the tennis court.

People often say that being a ball kid is a very prestigious job and the kids who get selected should count themselves lucky that they get to serve the world's best tennis players.

I totally agree with this perception!

I mean, who wouldn't want to run around the court picking up the stray balls and carry the sweaty towels of Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova?

But it's not all hunky-dory all the time.

Ball kids often have to endure mishaps such as getting smacked on the face by a ball travelling at 200mph, getting run over by an over-enthusiastic Frenchman, or even being toyed with by a giant Argentine—all of that under the scorching sun (if you're not at Wimbledon, that is)!
