Looking At Aaron Rodgers: Can He Take The Packers To The Playoffs?

Aaron Rodgers has been doing very well on the season so far, completeing 167-of-262 passes for 1982 yards and 13 touchdowns, with only five interceptions. However, he has only accomplished four wins out of eight tries for Green Bay. Let's look at Rodgers' productivity in the first half of the season.

Week One

18-22 178 yards 1 TD

Rodgers played very well in his first NFL game as a starter. He had 82% passing as well as 2 TD (he ran for one.) He also fumbled it, but didn't lose it. He also won the game.

Week Two

24-38 328 yards 3 TD

Another good game. He really played well in this game, getting 300+ yards, 63% passing and 3 TD! But, he fumbled the ball 2 frickin' times, losing it once. He still won though.

Week Three

22-39 290 yards

Okay. 56% passing is not that good, but 290 yards is. Also he didn't have any passing TD's, but he had a run touchdown and no interceptions. He also fumbled. And he lost.

Week Four

14-27 165 yards 2 TD 3 INT

Didn't look good. I though that he would have a good game after the first TD. Guess not. I'm not trying to be hard on Aaron, but every time I hear or read "Aaron Rodgers is having a phenomenal season", which I do believe, I just think about this game. 52%? 3 INT? 165 yards? But he had 2 TD and the first game with no frickin' fumbles. But he lost.

Week Five

25-37 313 yards 3 TD 1 INT

He played a great game. 68% passing, 300+ yard game is always good, and definitely 3 TD. But he was losing by three late in the fourth quarter. You got to win those. But he didn't. He threw an interception.

Week Six

21-30 208 yards 2 TD

Good game. 70% passing is very good, as well as 208 yards and 2 TD. No interceptions! HE FUMBLED IT AND LOST IT AGAIN! But he won the game.

Week Seven

21-28 186 yards 1 TD

They had to run the ball to keep Manning of the field, and when you give Aaron the ball 28 times, it's always good to complete 75% of those passes with a TD, WINNING!

Week Nine

22-41 314 yards 1 TD 1 INT

314 yards? Against Titans defense? Wow. After watching Aaron's terrible first drive with throwing one pass at the WR's foot, it's good to know he got 300+ yards. 53% passing is not that good, but it's okay when you have a TD and that kind of yardage. Another interception though AND A FRICKEN LOST FUMBLE! He lost too, but barely.

Aaron Rodgers has played well in his first eight games, and my fantasy prediction for the rest of the season is this.

Season

335-521 4036 yards 28 TD 10 INT
