Browns Backers,

in·com·pe·tent - ” not competent; lacking qualification or ability; incapable

Today should be considered an official day of mourning for the whole state of Ohio, flags should be hung at half-staff from Cleveland to Columbus and even Cincinnati as every football team(including the Bengals) were basically embarrassed and stunk up the whole weekend, the level of porous play stretched from Los Angeles to the North Coast and was just generally a perfect storm of horrible football and even worse coaching this past weekend.

In the case of the Browns it was more of the same as they still cant beat Pittsburgh and what makes it even worse is that even Mother Nature volunteered to be the 12th man she couldn’t even slow down the Steelers as they blew into the Cleveland like a raging storm and left a real blackout as to who the dominant team is in the North.

My thinking has always been being positive and forward thinking, but after watching this game and seeing the horrendous thing that we call an “offense”, certain WR’s from Michigan getting a case of quincymorganitis and just plain head scratching coaching calls that will have you reaching for a bottle of Head and Shoulders, you have to really wonder are the Browns for real or was last year a fluke?

With last night’s 10-6 loss to Pittsburgh being the 10th straight and now giving the Steelers a 56-55 (58-55 counting playoffs) series lead and dropping the Browns into the AFC North basement at 0-2 you have to begin to ask questions as to what was that travesty of a football game last night? and what is up with the team in general because there was simply no excuse for the completely incompetent coaching of Crennel nor his decisions to go for a FG when down by a TD on the 20 on 4th and 7 and go for a FG!!! are you kidding me!

If this doesn’t have Browns fans howling in anger like a pack of wolves then I don’t know what is because to me this clearly makes my argument of Crennel being way in over his head as a coach totally legit, and then before halftime calling two timeouts on a drive and then waiting for the clock to go down to near zero, thus leading to Anderson’s pick by Polamalu, quite frankly this team looks disjointed, not focused, disorganized and a total joke of what we saw last year.

What happened to the aggressive down-field passing? and has Chud been body-snatched for Carthon because this offense looks worse than a beat-up cheap Pinto and you can’t blame it on the weather because Big Ben didn’t seem to have any trouble throwing it down-field at all in 60 mph winds, and I’m sure Anderson isn’t gun shy about doing the same because I know he faced similar winds while in Corvallis right?

And on a night in which the weather was a great equalizer negating both offenses and the Browns only down 7-0, the game was right there for the Browns to fight back but only ended up shooting themselves in the foot with bad and bone-heading penalties time and time again killing any momentum.

There’s an old saying in football is that you never leave points on the field, and the cowardly Crennel’s decision to not go for the TD on that 4th and 7 could prove very costly for him if the team continues to play this badly and with the stakes really high along with the expectations I wouldn’t be surprised if he is gone by Week 8 if he continues to have mental brain farts especially questionable the bad clock management and time-out gaffes!

I’m not done roasting Crennel yet but I got tear into Braylon Edwards for once again sticking his foot in his mouth about Lebron not being a “real Cleveland guy” then stinking it up on the field and looking more like Madame Butterfingers than a Pro Bowl WR, things aren’t looking too good for him in his wager with “Aquaman”

Winslow is looking better than last year so far is the only reliable person on offense so far with his gutsy play and THE BROWNS DEFENSE actually showed up for a game finally creating the pressure and pass rush that hasn’t been since since the Ice Age and Shaun Rogers is a absolute beast, at least we got to enjoy his “love tap” on Ben’s shoulder..nice!!

And I’m not sure if Anderson has too much hot air up his rear end but he has been stinking it up worse than PePe Le Pew recently and his two picks last night proved to be fatal, particularly the one right before halftime to Polamalu that could have resulted in a touchdown or, at the very least, a field goal (what a shocker!). Anderson finished 18-32 passes for 166 yards, and a 44.5 quarterback rating(can I get a gas mask please!!).

Those catcalls for Brady can grow even louder if he continues on his pace right now because his decision-making has been poor, he is either under throwing his receivers or missing them entirely, as I was watching the game house-sitting at Peter’s Pub with 35 of my closest friends and fellow writer, Dan Gigler from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, There were many fans that were wondering “Where was he throwing that too?” As much as I love the kid It wouldn’t surprise me to see Quinn in by the bye week because I personally think he is still suffering from his concussion has hasn’t looked the same since the end of last year, did that Cincinnati game really screw his game up that badly, are we seeing Bad Derek more on a regular basis?

IN closing I think I speak for many fans and many of the PBB when I say it is time for Crennel to step down or get shown the door by week 8, because he has clearly lost control of the team and now that I’m beginning to think about it I think they went 10-6 more on Chud and in spite of Romeo, if last night was any evidence for my argument I think I have a solid case.
