Anderson on the brink? Quinn ready to take over?

โ€ crossยทroads - โ€ a point at which a vital decision must be made. โ€œ

Browns Backers,

โ€œHe better win!โ€, that is the collective opinion about Derek Anderson from Browns fans worldwide

The Browns have decided to stick with Derek Anderson as their starting QB as first reported by Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer and ESPN, minutes ago, as Crennel and the Browns have decided to delay the Brady Quinn era a little longer by making this decision and maybe it could rally the team around him or further splinter the already low morale in the clubhouse by not going with the heartthrob, backup QB.

Since his last game Andersonโ€™s QB rating has dropped faster than a Wall Street stock from a respectable 74.8 to a 48.8 and with the 22.8 egg he laid on Sunday it gives him the dubious honor of having the second lowest QB rating in the NFL, Thank God we donโ€™t have KCโ€™s Tyler Thigpen at least!

With Browns fans on the edge of mutiny, the way the decision was handled will not sit well on Sunday when Anderson throws his first(and hopefully not too many) INTโ€™s to the wrong team again and the fallout from another bad game by DA will be worse than Chernobyl, because not even FEMA canโ€™t clean up this Exxon size mess.

With many Browns fans already practicing their โ€œBradyโ€ chants for Sunday, the Browns might actually get the memo because as much as a supporter I have been of Anderson, Iโ€™am a Browns fan first, always and last and this will push Crennel out when and if they lose and go 0-4 by the bye week.

Crennel is an old-school, non-flexible and incompetent glorified assistant who hid behind Bellicheat and then got dressed up as a head coach and clearly has made many personnel blunders most notably Maurice Carthon and Todd Grantham come to mind immediately, and granted not everything is DAโ€™s fault when you have receivers who canโ€™t catch, an o-line that has forgotten how to block and a defense that canโ€™t stop diarrhea, and with many fans about to storm Berea with this latest move of sticking by DA this may be his final mistake, as much as I hate to do it here are the ugly facts on DA:

DA has 193 completions with 363 attempts ( 53.16% )
2084 yds which amounts to 189.5 yds per game or 5.7 yds per attempt
14 TDs
15 INTs
for a staggering QB rating of 65.9

and in his last 8 startsโ€ฆit gets even better:

129 completions with 255 attempts ( 50.59% )
1434 yds which amounts to 179.3 yds per game or 5.6 yds per attempt
9 TDs
13 INTs
with a QB rating of 58.2

Now Iโ€™m not sure if the terrible trio of Crennel, Savage and Lerner were looking at these numbers like Iโ€™am but when i was watching the Ravens fiasco at Peterโ€™s, one Backer and a good friend, Theresa, commented on how DA tends to telegraph his throws, and after watching some game tape on my DVR, I noticed the same thing, and what makes it even worse is that he also has a tendency to get really โ€œtightโ€ in the pocket as well.

Bottom line is that this team needs a spark and healthy players to take the heat of of whomever will lead the team the rest of the way, but since DA canโ€™t find his Pro Bowl form with a flashlight, I feel it may be time for Quinn to take over, I mean it couldnโ€™t hurt at this point and if Iโ€™m DA I think I might start selling my house because if he was unpopular before, then he is an outcast now.

Dawg for Life!!
