Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t get me wrong I’ll take it!! this game won’t ever be mistaken for a Miss Universe© beauty pageant, it’ll be more remembered as a heavyweight sumo match in pig slop but a win is a win and we are spared from going into the bye with a big fat zero in the win column, and judging from all the bagels that these two offenses were putting on the scoreboard you would think they were opening up a bakery!
And not to put a damper on the Brady Quinn coronation parade but it looks like Derek will live to fight another day much to the disappointment of the already big Brady Quinn fan club, with the Browns season on the line, Anderson not only saved his job(along with Crennel’s) for another week with his best game of the season, which isn’t saying much, but he finally showed some semblance of life in the second half and may have revived the Brown’s pulse as well.
With the Browns avenging last year’s loss, in this very same venue 20-12, Anderson can breathe easier for at least a couple of weeks, Crennel can now brag about his decision to stick by DA when it was beginning to look like the short leash on Derek was about to become a hangman’s knot, Crennel actually coached and managed a game, Chud found his instruction manual on how to be a coordinator, and Tucker actually went man to man and even BLITZED and sent pressure, Hallelujah!!
Don’t get me wrong even though it was a Harvard kid under center who was simply polishing up his post-NFL resume, but it ain’t like we’ve never caught any breaks like this in a game we had to win right? Browns fans can take solace in the fact that at 1-3 at the bye is a lot better than 0-4 and this win could be a step in the right direction if the they use it wisely to get healthy and build on the positives from this game such as actually running the ball effectively and early with Lewis who scored the Brown’s first rushing TD of the year (and if Chud is reading this!!) please get more Harrison involved please!!, get the ball to Winslow more, since he is the only Brown that can catch and seems to at least have some heart, and it was great to FINALLY see Bray Bray actually catch his first TD of the season and get in DA’s face on the sidelines, we need more of that in the coming weeks!!
In the second half, with the hook ready to come in and yank Anderson and with his QB rating as low as his self-confidence, Anderson led the Browns to their first win by actually managing the game for the first time (in God knows how long!) and to say we really needed this game is no joke because this season is no laughing matter and while his stat line of 15-24 for 138 yards passing was no work of art, no one will ever confuse Anderson for Leonardo Da Vinci but has DA has really regressed that much from last year? Does our offense look that bad without $tallworth and Jurevicius, or the lack of reps from his concussion, he still looks “a little off” although the win is nice indeed!
This game looked like a bad JV scrimmage at times with both teams unable to get going offensively watching wet paint dry was more exciting and it was real easy for the Browns defense to look great against a backup without Carson but a win is a win and not to take anything away from the Browns at all but we still looked like garbage and unless Crennel turns into Albert Einstein or Don Coryell over the bye week this win will be very short-lived because the Giants are not the Bengals despite Anderson’s escape from The Jungle, the calls for Quinn can no longer be ignored, not even without a blaring blowhorn, but at least for one Sunday the Browns brought the noise!
