Vikings-Texans: Minnesota Rebound For 28-21 Victory
For the first time all season I finally feel as though the Vikings are a legitimate team.
All week I had been hearing how the Texans would come in to the dome riding a three game win streak and take us down with the pass game—didn't happen.
Minnesota was able to smack themselves in the head, as if to say "Wake up, the season is on the line!". Brad Childress coached the Vikings well as they proceeded to pick up their fourth win of the season to bounce back to .500.
On the ground, Adrian Peterson had 25 carries for 139 yards and one touchdown. A 5.6 yard average per carry is what Adrian was due for. He silenced the "sophomore slump " doubters with today's performance. Adrian Peterson is currently ranked second in the league with 823 yards behind only Washington running back Clinton Portis.
Gus Frerotte had his best game of the season throwing for 182 yards and three touchdowns, one each to Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice, and Visanthe Shiancoe.

Frerotte also completed over 60 percent of his passes. Gus needs to have more games like this if the Vikings hope to continue winning. The only thing Gus must work on is avoiding sacks, learning to escape the pressure by checking it down to a running back or throwing the ball out of bounds.
Bernard Berrian was on the money again today with 2 catches for 104 yards along with the touchdown, a 49-yard grab in the second quarter.
The Vikings defense wracked up five sacks, two of which went to Jared Allen.
Kevin Williams also had one sack, upping his sack total on the year to six. I'm hoping that Kevin isn't suspended, if he is I hope it isn't for too long. Kevin Williams is the key to the Vikings defense.
I would also like to congratulate Madieu Williams who recorded an interception in his first game of the season since coming off a neck injury that kept him out of the first seven games.
As for Houston they were shaky at times, but overall looked pretty good.
Matt Schaub went down in the second quarter and didn't return after that. Sage Rosenfels took over in the second half throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground Steve Slaton was held to 62 yards on 16 carries.
I'm very proud of the way my Minnesota Vikings played today. A great effort like this will go a long way. Not every team is the same caliber as the Texans which the Vikings need to realize. They must be able to beat the weaker teams by 10 or more.
Minnesota hosts Green Bay at the dome on Sunday. The Vikings are still bitter about their close Monday night loss during week one. They will look to exploit Green Bay's run defense with Adrian Peterson and a dose of Chester Taylor as well. I will have my preview on Thursday along with fantasy predictions.
As for today, another great game for the Vikings!
