Juventus Set to Complete Move for Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi in the Coming Days

Adrian AgiusJun 7, 2018

After the attempt to secure the services of Sergio Aguero failed, Juventus are turning to fellow Spanish club Villarreal in the hope that they can sign Italian international front man Giuseppe Rossi.

Although Rossi is contracted to The Yellow Submarines until 2016, it would seem that agent (of Rossi) Federico Pastorello is willing to consider an offer by Juventus, especially if that offer proves to be the €6 million a season contract which Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta suggested might be the proposed bid for the player.

Considering that Rossi currently earns one third of this sum (€2 million per year), personal terms will not prove to be the issue in resolving a contract.

Villarreal are apparently willing to sell Rossi this transfer window, after talks with Barcelona fell through. Earlier this week Villarreal club president Fernando Roig invited Juventus to make a bid for the 24-year-old.

With Juventus heading to the USA to commence their summer football tour, any deal would hope to be wrapped up before the 19th of July (departure date). This would allow Rossi playing time with his new teammates prior to the commencement of the Serie A season.

If any deal does eventuate Rossi would be in the advantageous position of not having to learn a new language to settle in. He would also be familiar with many of the players in the Juventus squad, playing regularly with Chiellini, Buffon, Marchisio and Quagliarella in international fixtures around the world.

Unlike many other transfer sagas this window (Cesc Fabregas, Wesley Sneijder and Emmanuel Adebayor to name a few), Rossi to Juventus looks very feasible.

In this situation, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, both for player and clubs. All that is needed now is for pen to be put to paper, and Giuseppe Rossi will be Bianconeri for 2011/2012
