AFC West: Disasterpiece Theatre Anyone?

Raider Card AddictNov 2, 2008

Ugh. Bleah. Yuck.

Take your pick, any one of the games played today by the Raiders, Broncos, or Chiefs gave you the same look.

Even the normally inept Chiefs, took a team to overtime suffered the same fate.

A loss is a loss is a loss.

Kansas City squared off against an old nemesis, Jon Gruden. The Chiefs would remember him from his Oakland days...and for a while, it looked like KC might have an upset on their hands. But as things slowly fell apart, Tampa Bay was able to force overtime, then win it with a field goal....has to be frustrating.

Then, came the Denver game. The Broncos, playing at home, would normally be considered a strong opponent. But for this season, Denver has had problems on defense. In this one, the offense came close to rallying, but finally failed, with the team down by 9 points. Driving for a TD, Jay Cutler was picked off, sealing their fate.

And lastly, Oakland. This one hurts the most. The Raiders were playing in front of a loyal crowd, ready to show Matt Ryan what we had to offer.

24 points later, Oakland showed how much it missed Darren McFadden, Derrick Burgess, and a host of other injured players so far this year.

And if you can't guess....Oakland was shut out at home....the closest they would get to paydirt, was late in the game, ended by a pick from JaMarcus Russell.

Now, for the bright side....Oakland is still 2 games behind Denver. KC, 3 games back.

And San Diego's bye week, means next week, no one gets any more vacations.

Ugh.
