UFC News: Anderson Silva Responds to Chael Sonnen Comments, "Upset" With Him
In light of Chael Sonnen's recent comments directed toward Brazilian fighters, including Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, the remarks certainly not the most encouraging to say the least.
While training for his upcoming title bout at UFC 134, Silva spoke to Graciemag.com about Sonnen's comments and said the UFC middleweight has no respect for the sport or other fighters.
"All of us, as Brazilians, get upset by his attitudes," Silva said.

"We respect Americans, Japanese; we respect everybody. We have a tradition in this sport dating back many years, and it’s sad to see people not respecting that."
Silva and Sonnen previously met at UFC 117, that saw the Brazilian dominated and controlled for majority of the fight. Sonnen looked to be on en route to upset the champion until Silva applied a triangle choke in the final minutes of the fifth round to retain his title.
Silva will now face another opponent in Yushin Okami later this summer, in a match that holds some significance, going back to their first encounter at Rumble on the Rock in 2006. The Japanese star is the last person to defeat Silva.
The trip to Brazil will be the first time in 12 years for the UFC and Silva said the country will benefit greatly from the event.
"MMA is growing by leaps and bounds and gaining popularity," he said.
"The UFC coming here is really important for the big companies and sponsors to see and believe in this sport."
