Nicklas Bergfors Scores His First NHL Goal...Maybe

JerseySenior Analyst INovember 2, 2008

Sure, the Devils have been ravaged by injuries. But if there's a silver lining here, it's that we've gotten to see a lot of young Devils, including Petr Vrana, Matt Halischuk, Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond Lsean-Leavery, and most recently, former first-round pick Nicklas Bergfors.

All three of the previously mentioned players tallied points in their first games, with Vrana netting himself a goal. Bergfors actually played one game last year for New Jersey, but tonight was his first game of the season.

And, following the trend of his fellow young'uns, Bergfors got himself involved in the scoring on his first chance. He was credited with the first goal of tonight's 6-1 win over the Thrashers, although post-goal replays showed that Dainius Zubrus had actually tipped it in. Still, the goal currently remains credited to Nicky, and so, mazel tov to him, until further notice.
