CM Punk WWE News: Should the WWE Re-Sign CM Punk?

Jonathan BachJun 7, 2018

CM Punk is the reason so many people will be tuning into WWE Money in the Bank. Many people are criticizing WWE for not being able to re-sign him. But the question is, should WWE even try to re-sign him after the historic promo that Punk cut a few weeks ago?

Slowly but surely, superstars of the WWE will attempt to make a stand similar to CM Punk's rant on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago. Superstars like Chavo Guerrero and Batista have already left WWE because of their displeasure with the company, and there are plenty others who are being misused and mistreated by the WWE.

Zack Ryder is a perfect example of someone who has been misused. Ryder has made a name for himself by posting his Z!, True Long Island Story videos on YouTube. WWE has been starting to give him some attention, but he is a talent that has been underutilized for some time now. (Just throwing it out there WWWYKI).

There's a few reasons why WWE would not want to re-sign CM Punk. Besides the fact that he ripped WWE a few weeks ago, WWE giving into his demands would be a sign of weakness. Although some would argue that re-signing him would be the smartest thing to do. Can you imagine every unhappy superstar coming out and saying I didn't get what I want so I'm leaving?

Personally, I love CM Punk as a wrestler and superstar—yeah, they're different. But WWE has begun to realize that if they give into every demand that their roster wants, WWE would be broke.

You also have to ask yourself this: How would WWE move forward with CM Punk if he does re-sign? You can have him win the WWE Championship, but it seems like he's built such a void over the past few weeks that no one would want to work with him. He had an incident where he used a gay slur, and that's bad publicity for WWE.

The WWE is going to go in the direction best for them, and if that means letting go of another top superstar, then so be it. WWE is trying to stay in the right direction.

Would it be in the best interest of the WWE to re-sign him, and how would you go about with his career in WWE? I would like to know.
