Milan Jovanovic Set for Liverpool Exit After His Squad Number Is Removed?

Liverpool's Serbian winger Milan Jovanovic could be set for a sharp exit from the club after his squad number was revoked.

Former Standard Liege player Jovanovic wore the No. 14 shirt in his debut season for the Reds, during which time he made 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.

However, Liverpool announced yesterday that new signing Jordan Henderson will wear the No. 14 shirt, leaving Milan Jovanovic without a number.

It has been widely reported that Jovanovic will be granted a free transfer by the club when he can find a new side to match his ambitions—and hopefully wages—and Belgian sides Anderlecht and FC Brugges have been mooted as showing an interest.

In other squad number-related news for the club, Argentinian wide man Maxi Rodriguez has switched from his previous No. 17 to No. 11—despite rumours that he would move back to Argentina this summer—while Henderson's fellow new arrival Charlie Adam will wear the No. 26 previously occupied by Scouse midfielder Jay Spearing, who has switched to No. 20.

With further arrivals and departures from the club likely over the coming weeks, there may yet be further changes, but Reds fans hoping to get their new kits with new signings' names on the back now know which ones will accompany Henderson and Adam.
