Bright Future - 3 kids

Nate SantoianniOct 31, 2008

As many of you have probably seen.  Filatov was sent back to the crunch, and Mason made his professional debut with the crunch.  Filatov scored yet anoter goal plus a shootout tally, and Mason backstopped the crunch to a win making 32 saves plus no goals in the shootout.  I really like the way things are shaping up down there.  Let’s get some confidence going for these guys as they rack up the wins.  Maksim Mayorov is also getting his job done very well down there.  I really like how we’re finally getting time to develop these players the proper way.  These 3 kids will hopefully continue to develop together, and next season we may be in more of a situation where it is difficult to move guys because everyone is so good.

A quick look ahead…

I really hope chemistry develops between Mayorov and Filatov.  We could have a pretty good Russion pairing, plus a couple goats, and if Nash and Huselius pick it back up.  Things are just looking good for the youth of the CBJ.  We have some good protectors out there and if they can keep the solid checking going, that is also good to have.  Health will continue to be the issue at hand.  Guys have to stay healthy and playing so that they can keep playing together, and developing as a group.

Also from last night…

Marc Methot is playing very very well.  This could open the door for OKT to get traded…  And if this kind of offensive production continues plus Nash and Huselius picking it back up and Umberger playing like he can?  We could see alot of goals scored finally…
