UFC 132 Results: Dominick Cruz Says He Can Beat Urijah Faber "9 out of 10 Times"

Mike HodgesJul 4, 2011

Following their title bout at UFC 132, there have already been critics requesting an immediate rematch between UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.

The two competitors went back-and forth in a five-round title bout, which Cruz walked away with the victory. The bout is already being considered for "Fight of the Year" honours.

Cruz spoke to MMA:30 (courtesy of BloodyElbow.com) following his successful title defense and said he would welcome a third matchup between himself and "The California Kid."

"I'm not gonna turn down a rubber match like that, you know, I think that Faber gave me a good fight and he tested me a little bit and I felt like I went through there and still got the unanimous decision," Cruz said.

The win adds a measure of revenge for Cruz, who was defeated by Faber in their first encounter at WEC 26 in 2005. Cruz, who was inexperienced at the time, was caught in a guillotine choke and lost in the opening round.

Now after competing against Faber in a five-round contest, Cruz is confident he would pick up more victories over the former WEC featherweight champion.

"I know I can beat him 9 out of 10 times," he said.

Another intriguing bout that was mentioned was a super-fight between Cruz and UFC Featherweight title holder, Jose Aldo. Cruz said he would accept a bout against the Brazilian, and anyone else for that matter.

"I'm not gonna turn down a fight with Jose Aldo," he said.

"Man, if they pay me the right money, I'll go fight anybody at heavyweight. I'll run around like a chicken. I'll run around like I'm trying to catch a chicken in that cage, but I'll get through it."
