Habs-Wild: Koivu Brothers Show Great Performances In Defensive Duel
Saku and Mikko Koivu went head to head last night, in Minnesota for a game filled with emotions. The Koivu parents were both present in the stands, where they both saw their sons talents.
The game started off pretty well for the Wild, after scoring the the first goal in less than two minutes. But guess who came right back for the Habs, it was yes, Francis Boullion! The shot had an amazing accuracy, and went right through the Wild defence, and well, also Wild goalie, Harding...
In this game, I was happy to notice that the Kovalev line, was actually making great offensive outings, and making the most of their opportunities.

The wake up of Tomas Pleckanec?
You know how the Bell Centre is crowded, well I guess the Habs brought that concept with them to the penalty bench. In second period, Montreal got 6 consecutive penalties... Carbonneau wasn't too happy after that period...
Markov scored the winning goal on a double Power Play for the Habs. Tanguay made a wise pass to him, and made the most of it. Ringing a hard accurate slapshot into the top corner.
Sure, Tanguay got 2 assists and Markov played for 27 mins, but the actual milestone of the game, was the PK.
The second period looked very much like a circus.
The players in the penalty box, the clowns. The Wild, the spectators, and finally, I guess that Montreal's D were the Russian jugglers... In total, the Habs got 10 penalties in the whole game.
Thankfully, The Price Was Right. He came prepared to this game, as if there was no tomorrow. Stopping 28 of the 29 shots that came against him, he's truly ready for the season.
In the last two mins of the game, we saw a lot of intensity coming from the Wild. Pulling their goalie, and at some point, playing 6 vs. 4. But, Price was there to stop the threats. So Montreal wins their first of four games on the road; and will go fight for another 2 points in Long Island Saturday night.
