Yoosof Farah's Top Five EPL Goals: Matchday Ten

Yoosof FarahOct 30, 2008

Here are my top five goals from matchday ten in the Barclay's Premier League:

5) Stephen Warnock - Blackburn Rovers

In a thrilling five goal encounter, Warnock put Blackburn ahead by capping off brilliant fast-flowing passing play. After a neat exchange of quick-fire passes, the full-back collected the ball on the edge of the area before superbly slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

4) Brett Emerton - Blackburn Rovers

The second Blackburn player on my list. Paul Ince's side might be disappointed with a defeat, but they cannot be disappointed with the two goals they scored. After Warnock's opener, Emerton hit a superb free-kick that swerved beautifully over the wall and into the back of the net, past the helpless Brad Friedel. A magnificent goal, but little too late for the visitors.

3) Jermaine Jenas - Tottenham Hotspur

A magnificent game with some magnificent goals. From the edge of the box, Jenas gave his Tottenham side some hope with a stunning, perfectly placed shot. The midfielder beautifully curled the ball round Manuel Almunia and into the back of the net.

2) Frank Lampard - Chelsea

A superb goal from a superb player. After receving the ball just outside the box, Lampard knew exactly what he was going to do to give his side the lead. He perfectly placed a magnificent chip in off the far post, that beautifully floated past the helpless spectator Boaz Myhill in the Hull City goal.

1) David Bentley - Tottenham Hotspur

There was no doubt about it, this goal just had to top my list.

In a North London derby that had everything, David Bentley got the ball rolling on what would turn out to be one of the best ever Barclay's Premier League games.

A stunning goal that amazed everyone gave Tottenham a surprise lead. Tom Huddlestone chested the ball down for Bentley to ambitiously volley from 43 yards. The ball went up and down, and the slight curl on the shot left Almunia trying his best just to touch the ball.

The first of several magnificent goals, in one of several magnificent games in a packed midweek programme of EPL matches.
