What Has Happened to Tag Team Wrestling in WWE? Top 10 Teams Of The Past
Is it just me, or is Tag Team wrestling pretty much a joke these days? WWE has virtually stripped all honor to holding the tag team championship, and TNA is not much better. I have been a fan of Tag Team Wrestling for a long time and I am going to run down my top ten teams of all time.
10. The Acolytes: While they may only have three reigns, JBL and Farooq formed one of the most dominant tag teams of all time. Their backstage poker segments made them recognizable as a pair of fun-loving ass-kickers and their in ring ability made them recognizable as champions.

9. The Hart Foundation (Owen Hart and The British Bulldog): Two of wrestling's greats that we lost before their time. Real life brothers-in-law, Owen and Davey combined mat sense and power to make one of WWE's best Tag Teams of the Attitude Era. Their Feud over the European title may have threatened to end their union, but their family ties prevailed and in the end they were one of the Best Teams of brothers ever.
8. Edge and Christian: Totally Awesome is the only way to describe this duo. Brothers on screen, real life best friends Edge and Christian still hold the WWE's record for most title reigns with seven. Both men posses amazing ring ability and whether you loved them or hated them, you loved to watch them.
7. The Rockers: Back in the '80s there were a few teams that stand out among many, and one of those teams is HBK and Marty Jannety. Their High flying moves and colorful attire propelled them to the top od the tag team ranks in the WWE. While they never officially won the WWE tag belts, they provided fans with some of the best tag matches of the decade, including many against Bret Hart and Jim neidhart.
6. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart): Arguably the Best Tag Team of the '80s, Brothers-in-law Bret and Jim combined technical skills and brute strength in the ring to create tag team poetry. While only two WWE tag team championships ever made their way to the foundation, their legacy is unmatched.
5. The Megapowers: No one can deny that Randy Savage is one of the all time greats in wrestling, and no matter how much people may disagree, so was Hulk Hogan. Together they formed one of the most popular unions in wrestling. Originally enemies, they set their differences aside to form an amazing alliance. Although they never held the gold, no one will ever forget the joining of Hulkamania and Macho-Madness.
4. Harlem Heat: Booker T and Stevie Ray were two men on a mission, and that mission, to be the greatest tag team of all time. With 10 reigns in WCW as champs, who can say any differently?
3. DX: Although they never actually held the tag titles, everyone knows about the legacy of DX. HHH and HBK have more in common that just three initial monikers, they are world champs and world class wrestlers who when together are nearly unbeatable.
2. The Dudleys: "D-von, Get the Tables!!" Who doesn't love to hear that catch phrase screamed at any wrestling event? The most decorated tag team of all time, the Dudleys are not to be excluded from any list of tag teams
1. Team X-Treme: When you hear that bass line kick in and you see the HB logo fly at the screen you cant help but get excited for the Hardy brothers. Originally jobbers, Matt and Jeff made their way to the top the hard way, and after seven reigns as champions, I don't know a single person who would deny their greatness.
Innovators in the ring, the Hardys are known world wide for being risk takers. Anytime a Hardy Boys reunion is on the card, you are in for excitement.
