Oakland Raiders: Will Truncated Training Time Relate to Likelihood of Injuries?

Honor Warren Wells TheTorchJun 26, 2011

The beat goes on. The NFL lockout continues. Now, we raise a few questions.

Will truncated training time be related to the likelihood of more injuries on the Oakland Raiders team?

It seems the owners and the players are meeting more often. This could indicate that they are moving toward each other to come to an agreement on the collective bargaining agreement, commonly called the CBA. Whatever the remaining issues are, they must be resolved by July 14th in order to have a full season for 2011.

The direction of the lockout seems strange to some of us who have read about the history of labor disputes. Usually the workers, or in this case the NFL players, would protest and stop working because of the discomfort of an earlier agreement. In this case, the owners have locked out the players. The owners are making their voice known.

If you really want to shake things up, it seems that the fans ought to protest about the position of the owners and the players. Why? Who pays the bills? Who buys the tickets? Who buys the T-shirts, pens, money clips and other stuff with the Oakland Raiders logo and other team logos?

We do.

In the future, once this mess is resolved, we the fans ought to have a stronger voice in the NFL empire. Think for a moment if we give up our interest in NFL football and if those who are definitely addicted to it give up on collecting all of those souvenirs. It wouldn't take long for the impact to be felt.

If the fans begin to educate themselves on the issues and start protesting about prices of tickets and more, it would not take long to see blackouts throughout the football world. Some owners would see decreased profits, and pure chaos would break out.

We have tolerated this more than four month lockout, but it seems only reasonable to get educated about more of the issues in the NFL and specifically with the Oakland Raiders and shout for change, for improvement.

Go Raiders, once the lockout is lifted. Play well in 2011!

Raider Nation, let's "think well" about the power we have as fans.
