Is This Stanley Cup Finals Matchup Inevitable?
Notes on the Phillies and Luca Sbisa
The Frozen FanOct 27, 2008
- The Philadelphia Phillies have electrified the entire city. If the Washington Capitals thought they rocked the red last spring, they should see Philly right now. You’d think a Twizzler plant exploded and covered the entire metropolitan area. Hopefully we’ll see a little more of that Ryan Howard magic tonight.
- Tim Panaccio is reporting that Luca Sbisa will stay with the Flyers for the entire season. Sbisa definitely brings a composure and courageous experimentation with the puck that belie his tender age. I loved what he attempted on Saturday during a power play, dropping down to the goal line to receive a pass from Mike Richards. But I’m still not sure whether keeping him in the NHL at 18 years old - regardless of how talented he may be - is best for him in the longterm. Ah well. In Holmgren we trust.
- On the Fly! has a few words as well on Sbisa’s situation. I also enjoyed reading Bill Flesichman’s perspective on the situation.
