Roma Clinch Signing of Barcelona Starlet Bojan Krkic, 10 Million Euros Paid

Italian Serie A side AS Roma have reportedly completed the signing of FC Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic. The long-term deal is worth 10 million euros.

However, Roma's announcement might perhaps be somewhat premature, with Barcelona's Toni Freixa commenting that the deal had not been sealed completely. With the player himself still at the Under 21's tournament with Spain, it would seem that the transfer cannot be completed until next week at the earliest, when Bojan will return and be able to sign away his future.

The 20-year-old forward, who can play either through the centre or from either side in Barca's favoured 4-3-3 system, has scored 26 goals in 104 games for the Catalan outfit, but has found himself behind the likes of Pedro, David Villa and Leo Messi in the last year.

Linked for a period with a move to one of the Premier Leagues top sides, moves to Liverpool or Arsenal never materialised, and the youngster who made his debut for Barcelona at just 17 years of age looks like he will now move on without quite realising his potential at the club he has grown up with.

Bojan has one full cap for Spain, attained when he was 18 years old against Armenia, but has so far failed to push on and become a regular starter for club or country.
