Why The FIA Needs to Stop Destroying F1

My knowledge about the FIA involvement in F1 is very limited, but what I have seen for the two years that I have been watching F1. They are destroying a rich a tradition filled sport with crazy and ridiculous rules and changes.

The first problem I have is with the change circuits, and bring in all of these new circuits. The classic circuits are the greatest tracks to watch a race from Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone, and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. The FIA is no the only one to blame for this, but also Bernie Ecclestone.

Tradition filled sports such as Baseball, Football (both U.S and what I would call Soccer), and I would consider Formula One as one of those sports as well. The rich tradition of racing not only makes us think we can go fast, but advances the automobile industry so that our basic cars get faster and safer.

One such drastic change that I fear could bring a drastic end to the tradition of F1 is the standardise engine idea. Teams like Toyota, and Ferrari have already spoken out against it. I expect more teams to do the same.

While the standardize engine would allow the private teams to get an equal chance as the car-manufactures. I do believe that we may have seen the end of the private teams as major title contenders as Williams was the last one.

Then you have the issue of no race in Canada or in North America next year. While Formula 1 seems to be increasing in Asia, and not all that popular in North America. One smart person once told me that it you did not have a world champion unless the entire world was involved.

Well FIA are you ready to stop calling it a world champion? (They won't)

At some point, I think that someone need to stop Bernie and the FIA. Maybe the time is now, or maybe it has already happened, but don't let your sport end up the same way that the IRL is.
