2011 US Open: The Most Flamboyantly Dressed Players We'll Miss
This year's US Open at Congressional in Bethesda, Maryland, had its share of flamboyantly dressed participants, who we will not have the pleasure of seeing further since they missed the cut.
Gone with them are the reminders of a day when loud colours, plaids, and custom matched accessories were the norm.
Here are just a few of the stand-out ensembles and the players who sported them, like our first player, Rickie Fowler, who in the 1st Round saw him in Purple (not Lavender or Violet) with pure-white trousers, and, of course, his matching shoes.
Rickie Fowler, Round #2

As you may know, Rickie is sponsored by PUMA, who always provides him with a perfectly matched ensemble such as this one, replete with matching shoes.
It now has to occur to us that Rickie has two (2) ensembles of equal vibrancy we won't see until the next tournament.
I just wish Rickie would learn to wear a golf cap properly.
Justin Rose

If your name is Rose, doesn't it presume that you'd wear colours which are even loosely associated with those roses come in ???
Well, Justin wore Black and Grey in the 1st Round and Blue and Grey for the 2nd.
Is there any wonder he missed the cut ???
Ian Poulter
3 of 3
Ian is known for his plaids, and this US Open was no exception.
The 1st Round saw him in vibrant Red with check trousers, and the second saw him with these Blue plaids.
I like most of his plaids because it reminds me that this was once the norm, and, like Payne Stewart's knickerbockers, they ought to be remembered and still worn by someone.
