Juventus Transfers: Michele Pazienza Officially Signs for the Old Lady!

Borna KolbadiJun 16, 2011

Michele Pazienza has officially signed a three-year contract with Juventus, according to the club's official Youtube channel

The combative midfielder was signed on a free transfer and became the third signing of Juventus after Andrea Pirlo and Reto Ziegler.

Pazienza failed to agree terms with his former employers, Napoli, due to personal reasons, according to his agent and it was expected that Juventus would snap up the player who was extremely important in covering the Napoli defense last term and helped his team snatch a top-three position and qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.

The player, who has played for Udinese and Fiorentina in the past as well, is a defensive midfielder and his signing means that Juventus now have five players in the position: Marchisio, Pirlo, Melo, Sissoko and Pazienza.

New coach Antonio Conte is expected to play a 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 formation, which indicated that at least one of the five central midfielders will be offloaded. Pirlo and Pazineza are new and Marchisio is said to be important in the coach's future plans. This means that either Melo or Sissoko will be offloaded, if not both.

Juventus are still in need of at least a right-back and a left winger and are expected to be active for sometime in the transfer market.
