Halfway Home: NFL Week Eight Review & Midterm Grades

We are halfway through the season, and there are some disappointments and some surprises as the year progresses. Let's look at this week's action and how teams are graded midway through the season.

The Ravens are looking better on offense, as they beat Oakland 29-10. Ravens are 4-3 and get a C+ so far this season. Oakland is at 2-5 and gets a D.

The Carolina Panthers win at home again and have a good record of 6-2 and a grade of B+.

Arizona still is leading their division at 4-3 and score a C+.

Dallas got a big win at home over Tampa Bay, 14-9, and makes it to 5-3. Injuries to Romo and missing seven other guys get them a B. Tampa Bay could not score from the red zone and drops to 5-3. Grade: B-.

The Redskins got their offense going again and won over Detroit, 25-17. Washington is 6-2 for a good midseason record and a grade of B+.

Detroit needs to hit the books because they are failing! F.

Miami beats Buffalo and makes this division very interesting. The Dolphins are 3-4 and get a C-. Buffalo drops to 5-2 for a solid B.

New England is tied for first  in the AFC East now at 5-2, without Brady! They beat the surging Rams and get B at the midway point. The Rams need to study harder! They have a D so far.

San Diego does not travel well this season and loses again in London to New Orleans, 37-32. San Diego drops to a miserable 3-5 and a C-. New Orleans raises their record to 4-4 and gets a C.

The Jets and Brett Favre beat Kansas City to stay only one game out of first in that division at 4-3. They are at a C+ . Kansas City drops to 1-6 for a D-.

Philadelphia gets it together against Atlanta, 27-14, to make it to 4-3 in a tough division. Eagles are at a C+. Atlanta is also 4-3 for a C+ also.

In the afternoon action, the Giants played a good defensive game to outlast Pittsburgh. The Giants, at 6-1, get an A. The Steelers, at 5-2, need to study a little harder to get that A grade. They are at a B, currently.

Seattle got revenge for an earlier loss against San Francisco and made it to 2-5. They have a D. San Francisco is also at a D with a 2-6 record.

Cleveland makes it back to 3-4, hanging on to beat Jacksonville. Grade C-. Jacksonville is 3-4 as well, for another C-.

Houston beat Cincinnati for their third in a row to improve their record to 3-4 and a C-.

Cincinnati is failing school!  F.

Our class president, the Tennessee Titans can ace their midterms by beating Indy and keep their A+ grade going! If Indy loses and drops to 3-4 look for a C- midway through their school year!

That's your weekly wrap up! I have Tennessee on Monday Night Football to make it to 7-7 this week and 67-49 for the year! It was a tough week for me again.
