Cooper's Prediction: WWE Cyber Sunday World Champion Chris Jericho Vs. Batista

WWE Cyber Sunday
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Chris Jericho vs. Batista

Hello fellow Wrestling fans around the world, My name is Cooper and I am honored to be selected to give you my expert breakdown of this sunday's main event at WWE Cyber Sunday.

I have to admit, I've been very impressed with the effort WWE has been putting into their television and pay-per-view shows. But this Sunday it's the World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho, defending the belt against "The Animal" Batista.

But to add a little twist, being Cyber Sunday, if you don't already know were given the choice to choose the Special Referee for the match, but for the Champion, it looks like the odds are stacked against him, which is going to make for a very interesting finish to the match.

The first selection for voters will be the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton. I will admit I am a fan of Randy Orton, but everything set aside, this selection is definitely not on the side for the Champion Chris Jericho.

If you've been following the Monday Night RAW brand, you'll know that ever since Randy Orton confronted Jericho in the ring, there's been bad blood brewing. Although, Orton and the New Generation stable did give Jericho that chance to win the belt by taking out CM Punk at Unforgiven. But as we know Jericho's character, there in lye's no meaning for Jericho.

But if we really wanna think about it, with Orton's return not to far off, who do you think he would wanna fight for the belt, Jericho, or Batista? Which brings me to the next point and that is this may be the only selection in which both competitors are at a disadvantage.

Batista and Randy Orton both have bad blood with each other heading back to when Orton was kicked out of Evolution the night after he had won the World Heavyweight Championship for his first time ever at Summerslam 2004.

And my gut tells me that if anyone is to get screwed by this selection, it would be Batista. There's no doubt in my mind that Orton would screw Batista right at the last second in this match.

Our next selection for voters will be the "Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels. Now this is an interesting selection, because as we know there is a little bad blood between HBK and Batista, there's much more bad blood between HBK and Jericho.

At No Mercy earlier this month, we witnessed what I thought was the most brilliantly done and performed Ladder Matches has well as the ending of the best feud since Steve Austin and The Rock. That being said, I think the advantage is definitely with Batista on this match.

There's not a doubt in my mind that HBK will do whatever it is he can do to screw Jericho in this match. Although, from past experienced, HBK has done a pretty fair job at officiating a match. Do any of you wrestling fans remember WWE Summerslam 1997? If not, the main event was Bret Hart against The Undertaker with Shawn Michaels as the Special Referee.

In this match, Bret Hart spit in the face of HBK and then ducked a chair shot that took out The Undertaker and ultimately cost him the title to Bret Hart. But let's keep in mind, you automatically think Bret Hart and HBK, but that was a few months before the peek of the Hart Foundation and D-Generation X feud. This match and the title with HBK as the Special Referee has Batista's name all over it.

Then we come to our third and final selection for voters, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. In my mind, I don't see how he will not get voted into this match, I would be very surprised if he didn't get picked by voters.

As much as I believe he will, it kind of goes hand-in-hand because in this match I see no dis-advantage for either Jericho or Batista. There is past bad blood with Austin and Jericho, but that is several years ago now, dating back to WWE Vengeance 2001. From what us fans have seen on-screen, the WWE has always led us to believe there is no problems between Batista and Austin.

Another reason I wanna see Austin selected as Special Referee is the performance we see with body language between two very charismatic Superstars in Austin and Jericho. I think they would play each other off very well in the match with Austin being the authority figure. To be honest I see Austin surprisingly enough being the one selection that will make a fair decision in this match.

What I expect to see is Chris Jericho walking out of WWE Cyber Sunday retaining the World Heavyweight Championship. I honestly am not sure if this feud between Batista and Jericho will continue, which is why I think if Orton is chosen as Special Referee, he might screw Batista to have something started for when Orton returns.

If HBK is chosen, I think there is that slight chance Batista will walk out with the title. And if Austin is chosen, I expect to see a very interesting finish to the match, maybe even a clean win for Jericho or Batista. Either way, this is definitely a great match for WWE Cyber Sunday. I don't think by any means it's going to be a Five-Star Match, but it will definitely keep you entertained.

Cooper's Choice: Chris Jericho.
