Wrestling News: Foley Wants Release, Morrison's Injury, Punk's Contract and More

Alex BakerJun 4, 2011

Good afternoon Wrestling fans, it's time for a run down of wrestling news happening right now, so without further ado, let's go.

Foley Wants Release

It is being reported that Mick Foley is asking for his release from TNA, citing "creative differences" as the cause. This is the reason for the abrupt end to The Network storyline on last weeks TNA. Foley's contract is set to expire in September, but several insiders believe that they will honor Foley's request. With Foley leaving TNA there's a chance we could see him return to the WWE, hopefully playing the part of the Raw GM.

Morrison's Injury

WWE diva Melina tweeted the following about John Morrison earlier today:

"John [Morrison] is doing great. It's going to be awhile 'till he can wrestle again. Strength in his arm is the same since the day of surgery. He went back to the doctor this week. He's on his way to recovering. We just (h)ave to (b)e patient. I'm just happy he's not in pain and that He Is getting better."

Hopefully Morrison gets well soon because Raw is missing his presence a little as of late. I'll continue to update you guys on Morrison's recovery as it comes along and, as always, thoughts and prayers go out for a speedy recovery.

Nash on Wrestling Roundtable

Jim Ross is reporting that Kevin Nash will join him and several others at the next "WWE Legends of Wrestling Roundtable."

Punk's Contract

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Raw star CM Punk's WWE contract is set to expire in September. After finding this out I looked at WWE's events after September and it seems Punk is not mentioned in any of them. To me that's kind of a red flag that there's a very likely chance that Punk will not re-sign with the WWE, and will either take time off, or sign with a different company.

Tough Enough Season 2

Stone Cold Steve Austin tweeted about a possible Tough Enough Season 2 today. The WWE legend tweeted the following: "I have had many questions regarding a season 2 of Tough Enough...no word yet. Very interesting..."

I personally liked Tough Enough and hope for a second season with everyone's favorite anti-hero as the host once again.
