Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
In a series that saw plenty of goals being scored by both teams, it was almost inevitable that the final game would be a defensive struggle. That’s just how hockey works.
From the jump, the Boston Garden was loud and everyone there and watching on TV were on the edges of their seats for 60 minutes.
Bruins forward Mark Recchi told the Boston Herald:

The play that ended the Lightning's season was a beautiful play that saw Nathan Horton alone on the Tampa Bay doorstep for a tip in goal.
Once the game was still scoreless after the second period, I can remember thinking that the first goal was going to win the game, and it did.
It was the one big mistake that the Lightning made last night that won the Bruins the series. Both teams deserve a ton of credit for the wonderful showing during the Eastern Conference Finals.
