NHL Hockey Fan Rivalry: What Its All About. Why Some Tampa Bay Fans Don't Get It

As a Boston Bruins fan, I found it quite laughable that a radio host in Tampa Bay spearheaded a campaign to "Moved in Like Seal Team Six" to remove ads targeting the Tampa Bay fans while the Bruins and the Lightning are facing off in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Clearly, the joke was on them two-fold.  Anyone that knows hockey and hockey rivalry know that when the teams are getting jabbed, so do the fans.

As a Bruins fan, I am surround by my fellow brethren and Habs, Leafs, Pens fans, you name it.  And we blast each other mercilessly.

You should see what I did to my bosses desk after the B's swept the Habs two seasons ago.  It was beautiful.  In fact here are some pics in the article.

When I get razzed by a Leafs fan I smile, remind them when the last time that they actually made the playoffs, and when they last won the Cup.

Not to mention the Habs fans who, for years enjoyed victory numerous times and I had to endure that heart wrenching moment when the B's had to shake hands to congratulate the Canadiens who were moving on. 

But that's part of the game. Team against team, Fan against fan.

Similar ads were posted during the Habs and Flyers campaigns and not a peep.  None that we heard anyway.  But there was a rivalry.  They GET it.  They know how to give and take the rhetoric.

Just goes to show that some Tampa Bay Fans just don't get it. Here. Let me help you with that.

So how do you respond to ads like that?  Well two things are needed first:

1. Grow a pair
2. Develop a thick skin.  You're gonna need it.

Attack back.  Prove them wrong in a loud and proud manner.  Not whining and moaning like a wuss.

Don't "Oh No!  I'm a fan and I won't stand for it!! You take down them signs down RIGHT NOW!"  Please.

As a Bruin fan, I am reminded that the B's have not won the Cup in 39 years.  It sucks.  Believe me.

Never mind the "classless," "the bums," all that overly negative stuff.  Have some fun with it.

I've seen some good stuff out there.  That is something that you will have to research yourself.  I'm not arming you other fans out there.

Now get out there and have some fun!!

By the way...The Habs are missing their Ole Ole Chant.  Shame on you for stealing it on them..
