Heather Lambert: Who Say's Women in MMA Can't Have It All?
You had better not say that to Heather Lambert of New Hampshire, or you may end up in a Guillotine Choke, just as her opponent Andy Nguyen did this past Saturday during the highly anticipated matchup by promoter Andy Hall.
The South Carolina Grand Prix was held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Heather is a not only a dedicated MMA fighter and new South Carolina Female State Champion at 120 lbs. Heather is a mom of two children ages 12 and nine who are her biggest supporters.
The newly crowned champ literally has the whole world in her hands. She is a woman on a mission and does a wonderful job with every aspect of her busy life.
The champion is now (3-0) and has been training with Greg Williams for one and a half years.
Heather won her first fight by Standing Guillotine and her second by TKO due to referee stoppage, both fights lasting under two minutes.
Heather plans on going professional in about a year.
Lambert and Williams of Kaze Dojo of Lisbon, New Hampshire are big supporters of female fighters being allowed to fight at the highest level.
Heather is an excellent role model for not only female fighters everywhere, but for all females. This was my first experience meeting Heather, thanks to Cathlin Daley.
I was very impressed with how calm she was before and during the fight. Heather has left a positive impression on me that I will not forget.
Coach Williams only sang praises of Heather, stating that she is a very hard worker and is eager to learn, and always follows his directives. The fight lasted such a short period of time and Heather was so dominant that Coach Williams only had to give her minimal directives. They had a game plan and it was executed perfectly.
The fight was fast paced, clean and very exciting. If you blinked during this fight you missed something. As soon as the bell sounded the domination started.
Nguyen was able to get in a slam early in the first, but Lambert came back with some strong up kicks and was back to her feet quickly. Lambert had smooth transitions and fast and furious punches to the face of her opponent.
Lambert locked in a tight guillotine choke and the fight was stopped at 1:31 of the very first round, bringing the grand total of three wins at fewer than two minutes each (that is certainly a wow factor).
Lambert is sweet and polite out of the cage, but in the cage she is a destructive monster.
Both Nguyen and Lambert are exciting fighters to watch, and have bright futures ahead. This was an upset for the hometown favorite Nguyen who fights out of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Congratulations Heather, you are truly an inspiration to all women!
The family, friends and residents of Lisbon, NH were thrilled to hear that Lambert was the new South Carolina ISKA Champion.
