Ridiculous Hockey Videos: 10 Craziest Goals Ever Scored
As far as scoring entertaining goals in the NHL, Alex Ovechkin is definitely up there. We all know Ovi is talented, and say what you will, the man still LOVES to score a goal!
Some of the most incredible goals in history have been scored by the likes of him, Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, Ilya Kovalckuk, Paul Kariya, Pavel Bure, Doug Gilmour and on and on and on. But, as we will see here, some of the craziest, most entertaining goals you'll ever see simply weren't in the NHL.
No. 10 Mikael Granlund
1 of 10Mikeal Granlund of Finland scores one of the best with a reverse "lacrosse style" shot against Russia in the 2011 World Championships.
The team from Finland would go on to defeat Sweden to win the tournament for the first time since 1995, and this would be one of only two goals that Granlund would score throughout the tournament.
No. 9 Mike Legg
2 of 10The one that started it all. Mike Legg scores a "lacrosse goal" for Michigan.
Legg was selected 273rd overall by the New Jersey Devils in 1993 but never saw the ice in a Devils uniform, even after scoring the famous goal, now commonly referred to as a "Michigan".
No. 8 Marek Malik
3 of 10This is an incredible goal by Marek Malik of the New York Rangers. A couple things surrounding this goal made it all that much sweeter.
It was not only the 15th round of a shootout, but happened to be the longest shootout in NHL history.
It also happened to be Marek Malik's first of only two goals that season.
No. 7 Linus Omark
4 of 10Linus Omark makes a name for himself in the shootout during an exhibition game between Switzerland and Sweden. Though, this was not the last time we would hear from the young Swede when it came to the shootout.
No. 6 Rick Nash
5 of 10This absolutely incredible goal by Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets really leaves little to the imagination. That is the kind of goal that will give you nightmares for a week as a goalie or a defenseman.
No. 5 Jonathan Toews
6 of 10Seemingly following in Rick Nash's footsteps, Chicago's Johnathan Toews completely undresses half of the Colorado Avalanche team.
No. 4 Ilya Kovalchuk
7 of 10This is not the "flashiest goal" you will ever see. It made the list simply because of Kovalchuk's reaction after scoring it. Just epic.
No. 3 Bobby Baun
8 of 10Truly one of the most inspiring goals in NHL history.
It fit the category because in 1964, Bobby Baun broke his leg in the third period, only to return in overtime to score the game-winning goal.
The Leafs would win the next game 4-0, and earn their third Stanley Cup in a row.
No. 2 Sidney Crosby
9 of 10Incredible shootout win by Sidney Crosby against the Montreal Canadiens. Very sweet to see Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby in the same shootout. I'm not certain but that was likely not a common occurrence.
No. 1 Rob Hisey
10 of 10Rob Hisey, then of the Barrie Colts, takes the lacrosse shot to a whole new level during the 2004-2005 Colts skills competition.
