NFL Week Eight Picks: Lock n' Load

Thomas MorelandOct 20, 2008

This week has some make or break games for some teams as we near the half-way point of the season.  Lets see who's got the edge as we head into Week Eight of the NFL.

The Jets host Kansas City this weekend. 'Nuff said. Jets should win this game to keep playoff hopes intact and avenge their disappointing loss last week in Oakland. Jets by a touchdown.

Tampa Bay travels to Dallas who is reeling after back to back losses. The NFC East  however, is hard to beat on their home field. Tampa needs to bring their "A" game in this one. Tampa Bay by a field goal.

The new not-so-bad Rams travel to New England. I have to take the home team on this one. I do not like Matt Cassel much, but the defense should be good enough to get a win at home.

Oakland travels to Baltimore and this one should be an easy home win for the Ravens. Ravens by 6-8 points.

Washington is in Detroit and i don't expect any miracles in Detroit in this one. Washington will get their offense in at least second gear and win this one.

Here s a good one. Arizona plays Carolina on the East Coast. I think Arizona coming off a bye week should come out hot and take care of business in Carolina. The Cardinals win a 1 p.m. start on the East Coast, finally.  Carolina is good at home but I think Arizona's offense will prove to be too potent for the Panthers.

Buffalo travels to Miami and i can't take the Dolphins in this game. No way, no how. Buffalo by four.

The Philadelphia defense should prevail over a hot, but inexperienced Matt Ryan. He will experience Philadelphia for the first time on the road and see how tough NFC East teams are in their home stadium. Philly is amped because of the World Series and the Eagles will step up also. Eagles by seven.

San Diego travels to London to play New Orleans and hell, this one is hard to pick! I think San Diego is still a good team and New Orleans is not so good on the road.  no Reggie Bush this week!.  I will take San Diego because they should not lose three games in a row!  longer flight for Diego though!  Hope they get a good movie! Do they watch game films in flight?

Houston is at home for the third game in a row. They must be  in a good routine and have won two in a row. Let's make it three. Houston over Cincinnati by six.

Jacksonville hosts Cleveland and should win at home on this one.  The Cleveland coach and quarterback will be on the proverbial hot seat again!

The Steelers host the Giants in a marquis match up! The Giants will be in a war In this one. Steelers at home by three.

Seattle stays on the West Coast but things don't get any easier in San Francisco this week. 49ers sweep the Seahawks this  season. 49ers but a touchdown.

Monday Night Football gives us a team on their way up and a team declining! Indianapolis visits the undefeated Titans in Tennessee. This defense is every bit as good as Green Bays and this game will showcase the talent on the Titans. The only thing the Colts have going is Peyton Manning playing on Monday Night Football.  I have to take the Titans. OLd rule. Never bet against a streak until it's over!  Titans by at least a touchdown!

Good luck in all your fantasy games, office pools, and have a great week!
