WWE Over the Limit Results: What's Next for R-Truth After His Upset Victory?

Graham GSM MatthewsMay 22, 2011

At tonight's Over the Limit event, R-Truth was successful in accomplishing in what he set out to do in defeating Rey Mysterio. The action lasted eight minutes, and was surprisingly good with Truth being involved.

I was never a fan of Truth as a face, but this heel turn has certainly worked out for the best. Not only are his mic skills improving, but his in-ring ability has also stepped it up, especially working in the ring with such an established star such as Rey Mysterio.

The odds seemed stacked against Truth going into tonight's match, with his hot momentum leading into the contest on recent episodes of RAW, which usually indicates a loss for the wrestler looking strong leading in. I was glad for this formula to be broken to tonight to get Truth over as a major heel on Monday nights, which will definitely benefit him in the long run.

So what we can we expect from R-Truth going forward?

This win shows that WWE is behind Truth as a heel, so I do not see the feud ending here. It was rumored that Rey Mysterio asked to work with Truth, seeing that they are very good friends outside of the ring.

This feud is something fresh to look forward to, and tonight showed that the two can develop nice chemistry together. I would love for Truth to be working with other stars such as Cena or Kofi on the side, ultimately leading up to the anticipated return of John Morrison this summer.

If you have any speculation or wishful thinking as to what you see on the horizon for R-Truth, make sure to voice your opinions below. GSM out.
