Arizona Rattlers: New Oleans Voodo Will Face the Fury of Last Week"s Loss
The last time the Arizona Rattlers lost, their next opponent—the San Jose Sabercats—felt the fury. The Rattlers intercepted the ball four times, and took Mark Grieb to the turf four times when he had the ball. The Sabercats barely left the arena alive that night.
Following their second loss to the Chicago Rush, the Rattlers will travel to the Big Easy to take out their vengeance on the New Orleans Voodoo. New Orleans has a record of 2-7 and has little to match up with the Rattlers since they are the worst scoring offense, according to AFL.com.
The only thing going for them is that they rush the ball decently and are the sixth best rushing offense. Even that may be taken from them as Arizona is the fifth best defense against the run.
While the Rattlers may have lost last week, QB Nick Davila led the team in an offensive frenzy. Davila was 23-of-31 with 297 passing yards and five touchdowns. His receiver Rod Windsor beat him in passing accuracy, throwing a 17-yard pass on a trick play. The rest of his numbers drove the Rattlers forward, as he tallied 119 total yards and three touchdowns.
With the Voodoo Defense only ranked at a mediocre level, a performance like what the Rattlers made against the Rush will put them well above the mark.
Nick Davila is just behind future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Garcia by .2 in efficiency and may take advantage of a weak Voodoo team to propel himself higher.
In Arena Football, there is no such thing as a sure victory, but one thing is for sure; the Rattlers will enter the New Orleans Arena ready to dominate anyone that gets in their way.
