The 25 Funniest Amateur Sports Fails

Seeing professional athletes fail is hilarious, but sometimes it's even funnier to see regular people fail at sports.

The fails are bigger and the outcomes more hilarious in amateur sports action. 

No matter what the sport, or the level, there will always be video of people failing at sports.

So here is a list of 25 of the funniest fails in amateur sports.  

No. 25 Kid Gets Hit in Eye with Baseball

The first video on this list comes from a little kids’ baseball game. The boy at the plate swings, hits the ball and looks up to see where it went, only for it to come down and hit him in the face.

FAIL!

No. 24 Soccer Kick Fail

It seems the player may have put a little too much energy into a kick that he obviously thought was going to be epic.

Instead it was just an epic fail as the ball bounces off of the goal and onto a parked car behind it.

No. 23 Lacrosse Ball Makes It Past Snow Goalie, Hits House

Usually there is an actual person acting as the goalie in a lacrosse goal. But in this amateur moment, this guy tries to shoot on a snowman goalie, but manages to miss and hit a house instead. 

No. 22 Umpire Hit with Ball

In this high school baseball game, the catcher ducks instead of trying to catch the ball, allowing the umpire to get hit in his mask with the ball.

No. 21 Bounce, Shoot Fail

Even with the help of a trampoline, it seems this guy just couldn’t dunk the ball, and completely fails by breaking the backboard and falling to the ground.

No. 20 Goal Fail

In this hilarious video, the kicker goes to take a shot and not only misses, but manages to bank the ball off of the post and hit his friend square in the face. 

No. 19 Face Plant Dunk

This dunk was almost a success, until this guy completely fails and falls flat on his face.

Parkour can look really awesome…if it’s done right.

Typically the goal in football is to tackle the other team’s players and protect the person running the ball.

That, however, was not the case in this semi-pro football game. A player for the Las Vegas Cobras ends up tackling his own player who looked like he was about to have a break-out run towards the end zone.

Everyone loves spending time relaxing on the beach and playing in the ocean. But sometimes, a person may get too excited and underestimate where they should dive into the water with their boogie board.

That was the case in this video where this guy face plants into the sand.

Father-son bonding moments can make great material for home movies. But maybe this dad should have been more focused on watching than filming his son learning to swing a golf club, since his son ends up failing and hitting him with the golf ball. 

No. 12 Kid Fails on Bike Ramp

BMX can be one of the hardest sports, but it can also be one that produces the most fails.

In this video a kid tries to go off of a jump, but hesitates at the last second causing him to face plant down the ramp. 

No. 11 Too Much Speed in Hockey Fail

Yes getting down on offense or back on defense as quickly as possible is important in hockey. But sometimes speed is not a players friend, like in this video where this kid has too much speed going and then can’t stop, causing him to plow into the wall.

In this hilarious video, a gymnast tries to jump and flip over a wall, but doesn’t quite get enough air and just topples into the wall, knocking it over.

It always pays to watch where you’re going. And had this bike done that while showing off on his bike, maybe he wouldn’t have run right into another biker.

No one ever said it takes a lot of book smarts or common sense to be an athlete. And this boxer seems to be the ultimate example of that statement as he struggles to get in and out of the ring before and after his fight.

It’s always awesome to see someone just randomly break out into gymnastic tumbling. But maybe outside in an area with a hole right behind you isn’t the best place to do that.

This guy fails in his attempt to show off when he lands on his face in a hole.

Sometimes a cool sports trick can make you look like a superstar or sometimes it can make you like a total tool.

In this video it seems the latter was the case in this video as a kid tries to handstand throw the ball back in-bounds and ends up hitting another player in the face.

No. 4 Skate Park Awareness Fail

Being shown up by someone younger is always a blow to the ego, especially when it’s a 5-year-old at a skate park.

In this hilarious video, an older kid fails to look where he is going and ends up running into and table topping a younger kid.

This has to be one of the worse fails in the history of amateur football.

The player in this video not only runs in the wrong direction, but then throws up the ball, giving the other team probably the easiest touchdown in the history of football.

In this high school basketball video, one of the teams shoots the balls and misses, allowing a player from the other to get the ball off of the rebound.

The player then proceeds to chuck the ball down the court, where the ball goes straight out-of-bounds, and destroys the person walking behind the line.
