Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Curious Case of Media-Shy Da'Quan Bowers

Tom EdringtonMay 18, 2011

Just about every Buccaneer draft pick has made the media circles the past month.

They've all been around. They've talked to the Tampa Tribune and the St. Petersburg Times, our two major metropolitan newspapers.

They've all been on WDAE-620 AM, the flagship radio station for Buccaneer game broadcasts.

They've all been with JoeBucsFan.com, the go-to site for everything Buccaneers.

Everyone with the exception of one man. And that would be Da'Quan Bowers. No one's heard from the guy.

They've heard from his agent, Joe Flanagan. But talking to agents is like talking to Tiger Woods. Are you really going to get the truth on anything?

Where the heck is Da'Quan? What's he doing? How's he doing? How's the knee? How's the rehab?

That's all well and good, but it might be nice if Bowers would take a little timeout and say "howdy" to the media guys. You know, tell them how fired up he is, how he wants to prove everyone who passed on him wrong.

But for now, The Knee (isn't that a great nickname for this guy?) isn't talking. The Knee is somewhere rehabbing, hopefully doing what The Knee needs to do to make sure he's a better version of The Knee.

And hopefully not a Bum Knee.
