WWE over the Limit: Christian Will Regain the World Heavyweight Championship
When the 2011 WWE Draft finished and Alberto Del Rio moved to Raw, it seemed logical that Christian would win their match for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules.
That same draft, however, moved Randy Orton, perhaps the second most popular superstar in the company, to Friday nights as well. In a shocking turn of events, the SmackDown crowd granted Orton a title match, which brought Christian's title reign to a speedy end.
Despite the fact that Randy Orton deserves another championship reign, this one may be the shortest of his career. With Edge retired, SmackDown lacks another superstar to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy Orton helps ease the loss of Edge from SmackDown's roster, but Christian has earned a push to the show's top tier as well.
It was no coincidence that the cameras kept rolling as Christian exited the ring following his title defeat, and he has seen much more time in SmackDown main events since Edge's departure.![]()
Furthermore, bringing Christian into the main-event fold will create a compelling rivalry on SmackDown.
Despite Randy Orton being everyone's favorite bad guy, lately he hasn't been the same cold and calculated Viper.
Yes. We saw some of his signature punts in the lead-up to his Wrestlemania match, but that was pretty long ago. Pitting the two against each other could push Christian further into a face role and let Randy do what he does best: be the bad guy.
Despite never receiving a huge push outside of his tag-team career, Christian is a beloved superstar by the fans and recent events show WWE's higher-up's have taken notice.
Randy Orton is a worthy champion, but nobody deserves a World Heavyweight title reign more than Christian.
