Bills-Chargers: Who Do You Root For?

Oh, the humanity. We have on tap the third of three weeks worth of games we don't want either team to win.

The first week we had to choose between the Patriots and the 49ers, then the San Diego Chargers vs. the Patriots. Now, for Week Three, we have the Bills vs. the Chargers.

Someone, pass the Mylanta.

Normally, I wouldn't root for the Bills. After all, these were the same annoying fans who can't tell a close score from a blowout, or who felt they were going 16-0 until their quarterback, Trent Edwards, discovered reality is a painful experience. Without their leader, the Bills were routed by the Cards in Arizona.

The Chargers, meanwhile, have been back and forth, looking good sometimes, cheated sometimes, and even confused on an occasion.

The Chargers, for their effort, are 3-3 after losing their first two games by three points. Since then, they are 3-1, coming off a win against New England. For many, this was the team picked to go for a Super Bowl trip. No one expected a 28th-ranked defense to keep things interesting.

So, who do you root for? A Bills team that wants to prove that its early start isn't a mirage? Or a Chargers win to keep pace with Denver and even things out better in the AFC in general?

I'd settle for a tie, myself...If Trent Edwards plays, and plays well, he'll take out the Chargers defense like a hot knife through butter.

And until LT is back to being LT...the Chargers are too unstable to be predicting easy victories.
