The Top 5 Hardy Boyz PPV Matches of All-Time
The Hardy Boyz had plenty of classic matches in the WWE during their 5 year run together (first from 98-02; then again in 06-07) and invented or brought popularity to many matches in the tag team form including, but not limited to, the TLC match, the Tag Team Tables Match and the ladder match itself.
They not only accomplished this, but brought about a golden age of tag team wrestling along with their rivals The Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian, that will probably never occur again.
The ladder match was brought to American mainstream popularity by the Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels IC Title match of 5 years prior, but never really found it's niche in the WWE audience until the Hardy Boyz came along and made it a match so popular, that it is seen just about every month or so on WWE television. Before the classic rivalry between the Hardyz, Dudleyz and E and C, the ladder match was a rarity on WWE television.
So enough with the stalling, here are the Top 5 Hardy Boyz PPV matches of All-Time:
Honorable Mentions

Ok, I lied. A little bit of more stalling before we actually get to the Top 5.
A few matches the just barely missed the cut...
Summerslam 2000 TLC 1 Tag Team Titles: Dudley Boyz (c) vs. Edge and Christian vs. Hardy Boyz
Alot of you may be wondering "what the hell are you thinking leaving this match off of the Top 5?", but I'm one of those people that think this is a poor man's version of their previous effort together, the Triangular Ladder Match at Wrestlemania 2000. This match, even with the added spice of Lita with a thong, basically was just a re-hashed version of the WM 2000 match. Don't get me wrong, I love this match, just because it involves the Hardyz, Dudleyz and E and C for the Tag Straps and lots and lots of tables, ladders and chairs, but didn't the same exact thing occur on a bigger stage, in front of a larger audience, for the very first time just 4 months prior?
Even the Jeff Hardy Swanton Bomb through Bubba Ray the 2nd time around wasn't as thrill-inducing as the first one at WM 2000.
Armageddon 2006 Fatal 4 Way Ladder Match Tag Team Titles: Paul London and Brian Kendrick (c) vs. Dave Taylor and William Regal vs. MNM vs. Hardy Boyz
This is one of those unheralded, very underrated matches because it was a match that occured with very little buildup, occurred at a very forgettable PPV and happened at a time when the tag team division was although not as bad as today, pretty forgettable.
What ended up happening was a gem of a match and the shattering of Joey Mercury's nose, which started a months-long feud between MNM and the Hardy Boyz.
One Night Stand 2007 Ladder Match Tag Team Titles: Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin
Once again, an underrated Hardy Boyz because of the time period that it occurred in, and the fact that there wasn't much buildup to this match leading up to it.
This was a crazy match with alot of high spots due to added involvement of the athletic Shelton Benjamin. The Hardy Boyz would walk into and out of this match as the Tag Team champions.
5. Royal Rumble 2000 Tag Team Tables Match: Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz
2 of 6
In the first ever Tag Team Tables match, the Hardy Boyz competed against the Dudleyz in what is one of their most underrated matches of all-time.
In order to win the match you had to put both members of the opposing team through a table. The first man put through a table was Bubba Ray as Matt and Jeff converted the Event Omega onto Bubba through a table. The next man to be put through a table was Matt as Bubba Ray superbombed him.
The match carried onto the entrance way under a balcony as the Dudleyz stacked two tables on top of two other tables to create a four table super stacking. After Bubba Ray was smacked with a steel chair on top of the balcony onto most of the tables, Matt then placed D-Von onto the table, where Jeff converted the first of his many super Swanton Bomb highlights from the balcony to win the match for the Hardyz.
This match, along with the next match ranked on this list are definately the most underrated Hardy Boyz matches of all-time.
4. Unforgiven 2000 Cage Match Tag Team Titles: Edge and Christian (c) vs. Hardyz
3 of 6
This is a sort of forgotten classic amongst many because it was sandwiched in between all of the great ladder and TLC matches these two teams had.
E and C were coming off of winning the Tag Titles (yet again) at Summerslam when they defeated the Hardy and Dudley Boyz in TLC 1. The Hardyz would go on to defeat the Dudleyz in a No. 1 contenders match on Raw is War to face E and C at Unforgiven.
A few days later on Smackdown, commissioner Mick Foley would announce it to be a Steel Cage match!
For the majority of the duration of the match, Matt was left in the ring to fend for himself vs. E and C as Jeff had escaped the cage early on in the match.
The turning point of the match would occur when Jeff re-entered the steel cage to help his brother Matt, and hit a corkscrew swanton bomb onto both Matt and Edge inside the ring that literally made me jump out of my seat when I watched it live.
The Hardyz would finally end up winning the match when the Hardy Boyz stole E and C's patented move, the Con-Chair-To, and smacked Edge between the noggin on top of the cage as Edge fell to the mat and the Hardyz escaped to capture their 2nd World Tag Team Title reign.
3. Wrestlemania 2000 Triangular Ladder Match Tag Team Titles
4 of 6
In the first of the three major matches between these 3 teams, these 3 duos would steal the show for the first time together.
In what is widely considered a largely forgettable and dissapoint WM, this match definitely did not dissapoint.
The Dudleyz entered the match the champions, having defeated the New Age Outlaws for the straps at No Way Out. The three teams quickly entered into a feud with one another for the belts that culminated in one of the greatest matches in WM history.
Probably the most memorable moment of the match occurred when Jeff Hardy converted a swanton bomb off of a 20 foot ladder onto Bubba Ray on the concrete outside of the ring. The first of a couple of major swanton bombs through a motionless Bubba Ray and a table...
Edge and Christian would come out on top to win their first of 7 World Tag Team Title reigns together.
2. Wrestlemania X-Seven TLC 2 Tag Team Titles Match
5 of 6
There's a great debate amongst WWE fans as to which of the 3 TLC matches (yes, I'm including the Triangle Ladder Match) between the Hardyz, Dudleyz and E and C are the best. I'm of the opinion that Wrestlemania X-Seven was their finest.
What gave this match that extra "feel" was the involvement of each teams' "third member". You had Spike Dudley interfering on behalf of the Dudleyz. You had Rhyno interfering on behalf of E and C. And finally you had Lita interfere on behalf of the Hardyz.
All 3 contributed to adding a different element and feel to the match not seen in their previous bouts.
This match had such highlights as the Jeff Hardy swanton through Rhyno and Spike Dudley through 2 tables. The spear on Jeff Hardy by Edge off of the ladder. The Matt Hardy-Bubba Ray freefall from the ladder through 4 tables outside of the ring. The list goes on.
The match would end while D-Von and Christian were going up for the Tag Titles at each side of the ladder when Edge held D-Von and prevented him from reaching the titles to allow Christian, with assistance from Rhyno, to pull down both titles to allow E and C to go home with the titles yet again.
1. No Mercy 1999 Tag Team Ladder Match: Hardy Boyz vs. Edge and Christian
6 of 6
What else can be said about this match other than the fact that it's a classic? This was the match that put both of these teams and all 4 superstars involved on the map. Any interview you find involving these 4 men when discussing this match, all 4 of them cite this match as their coming out match.
This match was a part of the Terri Invitational Tournament between Edge and Christian vs. the Hardy Boyz. The winner of this tournament would win $100,000 and the managerial services of Terri Runnels.
The two teams would end up battling it out on TV in the weeks leading up to No Mercy splitting the Best of Five tournament. It was then determined that the tiebreaker would be decided in the first ever Tag Team Ladder match at No Mercy.
The Hardy Boyz ended up winning this grueling contest when Jeff Hardy grabbed onto the bag of money and proceeded to rip it off while falling from the top of the ladder in dramatic fashion. The rest is history.
