WWE, Worst Wrestling Ever

Why does WWE continue to get praise while people put TNA down like its running out of style? Loyalty, that’s what it comes down to. People forget that the reason they love wrestling in the first place is wrestling. Storylines come into effect but if that is all you want then watch some daytime soaps.

I don’t know about everybody but I watch half of my matches on Youtube and other online sites. This means no storylines, no build-ups, and no assumptions about wrestlers, which means its wrestling in its purest form. The wrestlers have to tell the story and the match has to be what entertains me. WWE has lost this art.

WWE matches are only used to carry on storylines and feuds. The matches are full of rest holds and most stars have a whopping move set of 6 key moves and a lot of punches. Compare the move sets of Batista, WWE's big powerhouse, and Samoa Joe, TNA's big guy.
                           
Samoa Joe has had more five star matches then Batista has moves. Punches, punches, short arm cloth line, Irish whip, spine buster, thumbs down, aaaannndddd Batista Bomb. There is the ideal Batista match and in most cases the ideal WWE match. John Cena, JBL, even at times HHH I find myself calling their moves before they even set them up.

People rave about Evan Bourne but that’s because he isn’t wrestling the WWE style, he is mixing it up with moves that most WWE fans haven't seen before because WWE limits their wrestlers. WWE has talent but they are all being slowed down to wrestle the WWE style. Seeing WWE fans brag about Evan Bourne just proves they would be better off watching a TNA or ROH match which have moves like his mixed in with others like him, not just him doings something unique in between Mike Knox's irish whips.

The reason we convince ourselves that WWE is the best product is because that’s what we know. We remember the great storytelling of past stars such as Bret Hart and Roddy Piper. These were the true greats but they were cutting edge at their time. WWE isnt breaking any new ground they are just trying to recapture the old days. Slow matches do not mean good storytelling, it means boring wrestling.

If we want wrestling to evolve past what it is now we have to support the innovative and discourage the tired old wrestling persona. Support hard working individuals and the true stars who keep us glued to our seats. I'm not saying TNA is perfect, far from it, but ripping them apart as if they are the worst thing to happen to wrestling since Ultimate Warrior is not fair to a company that is just trying to bring around something other then the merchandising powerhouse that WWE has become.
