Tom Brady: 5 Records the Patriots' QB Could Break over the Rest of His Career

Tony SantorsaMay 10, 2011

Tom Brady is the best quarterback of our generation, and arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game.

Brady has broken several records over the course of his career while leading his New England Patriots to four Super Bowl appearances and winning three of them.

During Brady's ten year career, he's broken shattered several records—whether if it's Brady's 2007 season where he throw 50 touchdown passes and had arguably the greatest season ever played by a quarterback or in 2010 when Brady simply broke the record of consecutive passes thrown without an interception.

Brady may be aging fast, as he's 34 years old, however he plans to be around for much longer. In a recent report done by the Boston Globe, Brady vowed that he would play in the NFL for another ten seasons.

Ten more years or not, Brady should retire holding several records under his belt.

Here are five records that Brady may break during the remainder of his career.

Most Career Wins by a Quarterback

This one may be a reach, as Brady sits 8th all-time with 111 career wins.

However, if Brady sticks to his guns and plays another 10 years, he should be able to surpass Brett Favre with 186 career wins.

If Brady does manage to play at least ten more years, that means he's going to have to lead New England to an average of eight wins a year—which is definitely doable.

Watch out Favre, Brady does have a legitimate chance of stealing one of your precious records.

Highest Career Winning Percentage

As of right now, Tom Brady sits as the  most winningest quarterback in NFL history with a winning percentage of .776.

You may wonder how this even made the list as Brady's already the current record holder, but if the Patriots somehow manage to have any losing seasons in the near future, his record may be in jeopardy.

However, as long as Brady is leading New England's offense, the Patriots will not be a losing football team—that's guaranteed.

With a career record of 111-32, Brady's only going to improve that record in the years to come as he's shown no signs of slowing down.

Most Consecutive Games Throwing a Touchdown Pass

This may be a rather easy record for Tom Brady to break.

As of right now, Brady currently sits at 16 straight playoff games that he has thrown a touchdown in—which is good for second all-time.

The current record holder, Brett Favre, sits at 20 straights game.

I think it's safe to say that if Brady continues to play the way that he's been playing, then Brady should own this record no problem.

Highest Career Passer Rating

The passer rating is the ultimate ranking for a quarterback—essentially, it calculates how productive and efficient a quarterback's performance is by using the passer's completion percentage, passing yardage, touchdowns and interceptions.

As of right now, Brady sits fifth all-time on the list at an incredible rating of 95.2.

Out of the four players ahead of Brady, three of them are active: Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, and Aaron Rodgers.

I don't know about you, but Brady is definitely a better quarterback than all of them. The lone retired player, Steve Young, sits at third all-time with a 96.8.

The current record holder, Rodgers with a 98.4 may go down as one of the greatest passers to ever play, but he's no where near the grounds that Brady stands on—I can easily predict that Brady will retire with a much higher passer rating than what Rodgers has when he calls a quits.

Most Career Super Bowl Victories

For all of Patriot Nation, they definitely hope that Tom Brady holds this record when he hangs up the cleats.

As of right now, Brady has won three Super Bowls, only one short of Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana who won four Super Bowls.

If Brady does play ten more years in the league, I'd definitely say it's safe to say that Brady will be making several Super Bowl runs.

However, the three Super Bowls that Brady won occurred much early in his career and hasn't done much since.

Hopefully Brady can get back on track, and prove to all the NFL fans that he's the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.
