Wolverine Wednesday: Wishes Darius Morris Good Luck

Big House BobMay 4, 2011

Reports on many sites are saying that Darius Morris is planning to stay in the draft and not return to Michigan.  That is really bad news for John Beilein's club.

Morris was one of the most improved players in the country this year from his freshman to sophomore year and he feels he is ready for the NBA.

Initial reports are that Morris is still outside of the first round (or maybe a late first-rounder) so this information is still a head scratcher for me.

The NBA is looking at a lock out and many top players are deciding to stay in school rather then risk months of not playing ball.  Don't forget, this isn't the NFL draft and if your not a lottery pick you could struggle to make a team.

I think playing at Michigan would be a much better option then the possibility of the D-League.

With that said, I hope Darius makes a team and has a long NBA career.   It's just too bad with the upside the Wolverines would have had with him in the fold next year.  Good luck D Morris!
