WWE: John Cena and the Top 5 Most Overrated Wrestlers in the WWE

Justin WeltonMay 2, 2011

These five wrestlers are overrated by the WWE. These opinions don't mean they aren't great athletes, entertainers or acts; they just were overrated by the business thus far in their career.

There are some good candidates for this list so preference will probably reign supreme.

Nevertheless, let the debate begin!

No 5: Drew McIntyre

1 of 5

"The future world champion," were the words that Vince McMahon said after describing McIntyre.

He has been on Smackdown for most of his career. I tend to forget about some of the wrestlers on Friday nights.

He was the chosen one by McMahon. Therefore, he was overrated as soon as he set foot in the WWE.

No 4: Wade Barrett

2 of 5

When he came into the WWE as the leader of the Nexus, I thought the WWE kind of already put him onto a pedestal.

It isn't like the guy deserved it, either. The whole Nexus thing with John Cena was bearable for a while, but just got to the point of silliness eventually.

Now he does his thing with "The Corre". He is one of the main attractions on Smackdown...how's that working out?

No 3: The Miz

3 of 5

The Miz had a pretty good run as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

To me, he shouldn't even be competing at the heavyweight champion level. He would and should be competing for the intercontinental championship.

If the European belt was around, maybe he could go for that.

I have never saw or thought of The Miz of heavyweight championship worthy. But, he had a good run.

No 2: Sheamus

4 of 5

He has been heavyweight champion twice. He has been the champion more often than Kane, Andre The Giant, Sgt. Slaughter, Chris Jericho and RVD, just to name a few.

To say that he was a better wrestler than any of these guys would be misleading. He is one of the WWE's most overrated wrestlers.

No 1: John Cena

5 of 5

John Cena is the most overrated wrestler in the WWE. This business has made this man virtually unbeatable, aside from a few slip ups.

Sure, am I tired of Cena? Maybe. He wins about 98 percent of the matches he participates in.

If the Rock doesn't defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania 28, I will guess that Cena will defeat him at WrestleMania 29. Of course, the WWE might want to keep his streak alive until his career is over, but if anybody will beat him Cena would be my guess.

He is pretty much on pace to win over 20 world heavyweight championships in his career. How many times will he actually win the belt?

The WWE has made this guy out to be one of the greatest superstars of all time. Whether you like him or hate him, do you think he is worthy of that honor?
