WWE Over The Limit: Will John Cena or The Miz Leave WWE After "I Quit" Match?

Giulio RomanoMay 13, 2011

It is Friday the 13th Bleachers.

Lucky enough for me my last article entitled:

"Alberto Del Rio and the 20 Most-Hated WWE Wrestlers of All Time" has reached over 20, 000 reads!

That is a lot.

So I wish to thank everyone for reading and your appreciated comments.

Now, on to the weekend and more important matters.

WWE Over The Limit is a less than two weeks away and announced was a championship rematch between defending champion John Cena and his longtime nemesis The Miz.

I like the fact that, despite his loss, The Miz has remained in the top spot and delivered unto us some great matches lately, namely one on RAW following Extreme Rules.

John Cena has promised us and his WrestleMania 28 opponent The Rock that he would defend the championship at the show of shows. He does have a long way to go before he can honor that promise but the fact that he is champion now usually works in his favor.

Why is that? Well simply because a champion needs not defeat his opponent to win and retain. Yes that is not in his character to act that way but what if it was the beginning of a new persona?

Will John Cena or The Miz leave WWE after their match next Sunday?

Are you kidding? NO!

It is an "I Quit" match. I haven't heard of a loser quits the company stipulation for this one, not as of Friday May 13th, 2011 anyway.

They are polar opposites to each other. One is the top "face" and the other the top "heel." Don't make me spell out which one is which.

I'd love to have The Rock here and tell both to "Know their roles and shut their damned mouth!"

I was just playing on this one as I am behind The Miz all the way. For him to leave right now is ridiculous. He is red-hot, full of potential and may I say, still treated as a top priority by Vince McMahon and his creative team.

Leaving is not an option. I see him having a great match next week leading all the way to SummerSlam where I'd hope he battles someone of galactic proportion a.k.a The Rock.

Dwayne Johnson needs to have a few matches at some point if he is to be ready for SuperCena so fighting a man who is up and coming could be the way to do it.

John Cena lives by his patented "Hussle" "Loyalty" and "Respect," but he should also add in "Yawn" because that is what I think of his character right now. He has never lost an "I Quit" match ever!

Well, first time for everything buddy!

Otherwise, how could the company expect us, its fans, to be in any way interested in this event?

As it is now, Johnny boy is the main draw, the one that brings home the money. However, it is clear the WWE product has suffered a decline from lack of creativity in the last few years. Something needs to change, even just a little, and having Cena change his ways would be how to do it.

Let's say for argument sake, he loses and actually utters the magic words "I quit." Then what?

He could start spiraling into a darker, more vicious persona and though he'd be a "face" for a while, his turn would be finalized around Royal Rumble, right in time for WrestleMania 28.

In all honesty, nobody will cheer for this guy against The Rock, especially in the Great One's hometown.

There is so much left to do for Cena this year.

I really hope he begins to change. Should he wrestle Alberto Del Rio at SummerSlam as speculated? Title or not, I'd want to see a different side of him. A side that says I, John Cena, am really into this business to entertain and wish to give you my best.

We could truly get the best of him in "heel" form. It worked for Hulk Hogan back in 1996.

I always disliked the Hulk but after his turn, I started to have a newfound respect for the man which sticks to this day.

So to return to our main question: Will Cena or Miz quit altogether after Over The Limit? I stick with my HELL NO! answer.

I say: "The winner of this bout, by way of submission and NEW! WWE Champion...The Miz!"

Whether some like it or not, we are stuck with both superstars for years to come or until something bad happens, God protect em!

Oh look! Something bad happened...article over.
