2011 NFL Draft Grades: 5 Teams Who Deserve the Best NFL Draft Grades

Gabe ZaldivarApr 30, 2011

The 2011 NFL Draft grades are here for you NFL fans clamoring for more news surrounding the recent NFL draft.

This was a very successful draft all around. Teams didn't have the crutch of free agency to fall back on. There were less trades and more reaching for immediate needs rather than speculative talent.

The picks cam quickly and often. It is all over now, and we are left to digest just what went down. There are five teams that really did well in the 2011 NFL Draft. These franchises should pop the champagne, because they are much better today than they were on Thursday.

Trust me, not every team can say that.

5. Buffalo Bills: Grade B+

I love the fact that they Bills didn't panic. They know full well that Ryan Fitzpatrick has the quarterback job for the foreseeable future. This draft was all about defense. Marcell Dareus on the line makes them very tough to contend with.

Aaron Williams is a game-changer in the secondary. The two will work in tandem to make the Bills movers and shakers in the division.

4. Denver Broncos: Grade B+

The Broncos also needed defense. They have two quarterbacks that net a starter at some point. Von Miller and Rahim Moore were huge gets for this team.

The only blemish I see is the lack of a running back in the room. Whether they were enamored with the talent or not, they should have taken a shot at least one pair of legs for the backfield.

3. Cleveland Browns: Grade A-

The Browns beefed up their defense in a big way, more importantly, the right way, too. Phil Taylor will put a top to all the running back nonsense at the gaps. Colt McCoy has a new toy in Greg Little to throw to now as well.

2. Baltimore Ravens: Grade A-

The Ravens are getting a bit old in the secondary. They get a steal of a player in Jimmy Smith. He very well could be just as good as Prince Amukamara who went well ahead of him. They also have a playmaker at wide receiver. That is something they were sorely missing.

1. Detroit Lions: Grade A

The Lions had some pretty big holes to fill this offseason. Not waiting for the offseason, the Lions said the hell with it, and decided to solve them all at the draft. They now have Nick Fairley playing alongside last year's prize, Ndamukong Suh.

Adding Titus Young and Mikel Leshoure to the offense was huge. These guys are now electric on both side so the ball.
